What is Embodiment

This workshop is specifically for grounding your self into your body in a way that it trauma informed. What does being grounded and embodiment even mean though? It means a sense of trust for yourself and the world at large. It means knowing when there is a real threat and when there isn't, when you can turn off the hyper vigilance and alarm bells that come from trauma that is still stored in the body. It means making a sacred space for your soul in the physical form that you were given. Truly feeling where your trauma is stored and how you can release it in practical and proven ways. It means trusting your body and its sensations and feelings. It means feeling connected. To yourself, others, and the world. Oftentimes, when we suffer a trauma, we dissociate and that causes our bodies to become disconnected from our reality as a way to cope with what is happening to us (especially true for those who suffered a bodily attack such as physical or sexual abuse, poverty, or childhood neglect). You don't need to have suffered from a specific traumatic event to need this workshop though. In our modern world, most of us are extremely disconnected from our bodies. We have jobs, forms of entertainment, and ways of living that keep us fixated on our anxieties and stress, promote stagnancy and complacency, and disconnect us from our very existence in this physical realm.

The Ideal Student

This workshop is for those who have are dealing with several or all of these...

You feel spacey and find it hard to finish tasks. You aren’t able to concentrate, are easily distracted, and can’t remember more than a couple of steps to a task. You may forget appointments and times for things.

It’s hard for you to communicate properly. You’ll jump around from topic to topic without a point or stop a conversation halfway to say something else. People may not be able to follow or understand you.

You feel nervy, anxious, and overwhelmed.

You can feel slightly out of body. Perhaps you feel not all there in the physical or that you keep bumping into things.

You have a job or lifestyle that leaves you feeling disconnected, stagnant, and in your head.

You dissociate and have flashbacks.

You feel numb and disconnected from reality.

You can't seem to truly feel connection with others or yourself.

You do not have a good connection between your body and your feelings and thoughts.

You have bodily shame or hatred.

You perceive the body as an object.

You feel cut off from your spirit, soul, or the Creator (whatever you may see this as).

You have suffered from an abuse to the body that left you feeling the need to leave your present moment. This can range from sexual or physical abuse, to extreme poverty with the inability to afford proper food, to being yelled at and wanting to "leave" your current uncomfortable reality by spacing out.
